SWS Store Policies and Procedures
Return Policy
- No returns will be allowed without the original receipt and all original packaging.
- Bank/Credit Card statements cannot substitute for a receipt. These statements only show the amounts of the purchase, not the individual items.
- SWS cannot look up your receipt.
- Returns must have all original packaging, drivers, documents, etc.
- Returned products must be undamaged, clean, odor-free, and in like-new condition.
- All returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee and Manager approval.
- Refunds will be given only up to 10 business days past the date of original purchase.
- Cash refunds for check payments will only be made upon verification of check clearance.
- Cash refunds greater than $100 are subject to cash availability, Manager approval and may be made by check.
- Refunds are only honored in the same tender type as the original transaction. All electronic transaction refunds (credit or debit) must be run as credit, per Merchant Services.
- For your safety, SWS ID’s all credit card purchases.
- SWS does not accept credit card purchases over the phone without required credit card authorization form and verification.
- Only store credit or exchanges will be allowed on products from the 11th to the 30th business days past original purchase date.
- No Returns will be accepted on: software, CPUs, full computer systems, laptops, netbooks, tablets, printers, tools, cable modems, or cases. Exchanges will be made ONLY if laptop is DOA (no exchanges after the first 10 days). Cable modems may be exchanged if tested bad with provided work order from Cox or Comcast.
- No returns on open consumables such as batteries, blank CD/DVD media, thermal compound, and UPS backups.
- No refunds or credit will be given for labor charges. All labor charges are non-refundable.
- NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS OF ANY KIND WILL BE MADE AFTER 30 DAYS OF ORIGINAL PURCHASE.
Warranty Policy
- Original receipt is required for all warranty issues as it is the only proof of purchase accepted at SWS.
- No physically damaged materials will be accepted for warranty.
- If part is no longer stocked but still within our warranty period, SWS may send the item back to manufacturer for repair and shipped back to you. Manufacturer repairs may take up to 8-10 weeks.
- All OEM & retail CPU’s have NO SWS Warranty.
- SWS will provide a 30day warranty on OEM & retail CPU’s if installed by a SWS technician.
- All Memory has a 1-Year SWS warranty - see manufacturer for lifetime warranty (all stickers must be intact and on the memory).
- Laptop, netbooks, tablets, Intel & AMD processors, and printer warranties are through the manufacturer only. Customers will need to send item directly to the manufacturer.
- 1-Year warranty on all other parts unless otherwise stated. Original labor carries a 90-day warranty only.
SWS Pre-Built System Warranty
- SWS offers a 1 year parts & labor warranty on all pre-built systems from date of purchase at no additional cost.
- An extended 1 or 2 year warranty may be purchased with system for 15% of total final bill (per year.)
- To check warranty status: look on the back of the system for a PBS seal with your abbreviated name and date.
- If customer decides to upgrade system at time of sale, each part is an additional $10 plus the price of the part or $25 for power supplies and case swaps. If customer decides to upgrade 90 days later, the price goes up to $25 plus the price of the part. SWS does not allow used items or any product not purchased from SWS to be upgraded through our service center.
- Customer may upgrade internal components themselves, but if any internal damage is seen by an SWS technician upon warranty check in, your warranty may be voided.
- Virus removal is not covered under warranty. System restore to SWS settings is free of charge. Please backup all necessary files prior to check in. If you would like SWS to make a backup for you, there will be an additional fee.
Reseller Policy
- SWS cannot verify or give out any pricing to Resellers over the phone. Prices may be obtained by visiting the website and logging into the Reseller section, or stopping in store.
- There will be a $10 fee to look up lost or misplaced invoices.
- No technical support can be provided.
- Do not converse with customers regarding services you may offer.
Surplus & Used Item Policy
All surplus & used items are sold as-is and there are no guarantees, warranties, exchanges or returns on these items. All sales are final.
All used desktops, laptops, and monitors come with a 7-day warranty. System diagnostics & testing is required before refund.
Parts Test Policy
SWS is willing to test computer parts. The fee is $15 per part at the standard turnaround time. If you need a hard drive bigger than 320GB tested, the fee is $25. Unfortunately we cannot test fax machines or dial-up modems. Please inquire at our service center if the item you would like tested is not on this list.
Special Order Policy
In the circumstance that SWS places a special order (any non-stocked item), SWS requires 100% pre-payment in full. If merchandise is not picked up within 90 days of customer notification, the customer forfeits all rights to the product and payment. No returns on special orders.

Pickup Policy
Any special-order parts or payments will be forfeited 90 days past customer notification if not picked up. Any items put in will-call will be restocked after 24 hours unless prior exception has been made. Any item checked in for technical service that remains unclaimed 30 days past customer notification becomes the property of SWS unless prior exception has been made. Customer must have either a pink copy of the service form or a photo I.D to claim their item. If someone is picking something up for you, please note on the service order at check-in or we will call you upon pickup.
Store Hours
SWS operates Monday-Friday 9 a.m until 6 p.m and Saturday 10 a.m until 5 p.m. These hours are firm. Please be ready to check out prior to closing. Our service department is open Monday-Friday 9 a.m until 6 p.m only. SWS will be closed on special holidays (Christmas, New Years, etc).
